Advisory:

Earthquake off of the coast of Russia, magnitude of 8.7, 12 miles deep, has elicited a Tsunami Warning for the Hawaiian Islands.

Out of abundance of caution, the gams at Punahou and Iolani has ceased for today, after completing the 2:40pm games.

The first wave of any effect of this will be around 7:19 pm this evening for Oahu.

We are hopeful that all will be okay, in which we can double up games at Punahou over the next day or two to make up.

But for now, let's all get to a safe place. Make sure everyone is subscribed to receive notifications here!

We are revising schedules to accommodate missed games today, but wanted you to see tomorrow's schedule ASAP, keeping mostly the same, Women's games start earlier. Following day or two will have 3 courses.

The tournament is an American Water Polo (AWP) sanctioned event.  Hawai'i Water Polo will register all players with AWP for the duration of the event and will pay the player fees for the tournament if the players are not already members of AWP.

USAWP/FINA Rules as stated and with exceptions:
NO TIME OUTS EXCEPT FOR MEDAL GAMES. Only for 1st and 3rd place games, 2 x 1-minute timeouts
Preliminary games CAN end in a tie. For advancement games requiring a winner, will go directly to shootout if tied at the end of regulation.

The first team listed shall wear white caps and sit to the left of the score table from the vantage point of someone sitting at the score table.
Teams shall switch ends at halftime; the rules do not allow for switching ends each period.
All games, 6-minute quarters .
ALL BREAKS, INCLUDING HALF-TIME SHALL BE 2 MINUTES IN DURATION.
AWARDS: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place Team Awards for the top 4 teams respectively in each division
ROSTERS:
Possession Clocks shall be set for 30 second possessions for all divisions.
Size 5 ball used for 16U/18U Boys and Men , size 4 ball will be used for the Girls, Women, and 14U division.
Point System for bracket play:
3 points: WIN
2 points: TIE
1 point: LOSS
0 points : FORFEIT

TIE-BREAKERS
In the unlikely case of teams tied in game points, teams advance according to the FINA tie breaker rules, stated in the FINA Playing Rules, Appendix BL
Two Way Ties - BL 9.6.3.1
If two (2) teams shall have equal points, further classification shall be established as follows:
"...The team winning the game between the two teams shall be placed higher..." (no other provisions apply)

Three Way Ties - BL 9.6.3.2
If three (3) or more teams shall have equal points, further classification shall be established as follows:
BL 9.6.3.2.1 : The results among the tied teams shall determine which team is placed highest.
BL 9.6.3.2.2 : If at any time during the application of the procedure set our in this BL 9.6.3.2, the number of tied teams is reduced to two (2), then BL 9.6.3.1 shall be
used to determine which of the two (2) remaining teams is placed higher.
BL 9.6.3.2.3 : "The comparison shall be made upon first, the points of the games among them, next the goal difference, and next, based upon goals scored."

RED CARDS: Any COACH receiving a red card shall be required to sit out the next game for that team in that division, AND ALL GAMES IN BETWEEN IN THE EVENT THAT COACH IS COACHING ANOTHER TEAM IN ANOTHER DIVISION.

RED CARDS: Any PLAYER receiving a red card shall be required to sit out the next game for that team in that division, AND ALL GAMES IN BETWEEN IN THE EVENT THAT PLAYER IS PLAYING IN ANOTHER DIVISION.

BRUTALITIES: Any PLAYER receiving a brutality shall be required to sit out the next game for that team in that division, AND ALL GAMES IN BETWEEN IN THE EVENT THAT PLAYER IS PLAYING IN ANOTHER DIVISION.
